Important: Exchange Programmes, Spring Semester 2020/21

Dear students

We’ve been discussing our S2 exchange programmes with our international partners. Unfortunately, the global public health situation remains unstable, with little sign of improvement in the early part of 2021. We’ve therefore taken the difficult decision to cancel all physical student exchange in S2.

Instead, we’re able to offer students an opportunity to study remotely at some partner institutions through virtual exchange programmes. Students will be contacted directly with detailed information. Students who withdraw from their S2 exchange programme due to the Covid-19 pandemic will be given a full refund of the deposit. Such students will also be given priority when making future applications for exchange and short-term programmes.

We do realize that this news will be disappointing for many of you. We wanted to let you know as early as possible to enable you to make alternative plans. We continue to work with our international partners on future exchange programmes, while always playing close attention to the evolving public health situation.

If you have any enquiries, please write with your full student details to goabroad@hku.hk. Many thanks for your understanding and cooperation.

Best wishes, Ian
